Rotary Food Service to Covid Patients and Quarantined Families.
The second wave of Covid 19 which commenced somewhere in March/April 2021 was much devastating than the first wave. As the lockdown was officially declared and the numbers of the cases rising exponentially, Rotary Club of Jalandhar came up with an initiative of providing home prepared food for the Covid patients and their families.
Approximately 15 families of Rotary Club of Jalandhar and it’s friends, joined hands to provide home delivery of approximately 1600 – 1800 plates altogether in form of lunch and dinner to the needy families of Jalandhar and even to the patient’s attendants in the hospitals who have come from far away places.
It was heartwarming to see the children and youngsters contribute in the whole process. The compassion showed by the whole team in cooking, packing and delivering was indeed a blessing.
The food was cooked in our own kitchens, by the family members themselves and being packed with a lot of love and prayers. We felt blessed when the patients recover and thank us for the service, after which we get the opportunity to serve another family.
We, at Rotary Club of Jalandhar feel blessed to have this opportunity and will always look forward to contributing to the society in all possible ways. The families involved in this noble service project were Mrs Aroohi and Mr Abhishek Chaudhary, Mrs Kiran Singhal and PDG Barjesh Singal, Dr Ramandeep Oberoi and Dr Vijay Oberoi, Mrs Shveta Handa and Ramneek Handa, Mrs Roopali kohli and Mr Manish kohli, Mrs Aradhana Kaura and Mr Sanjeev Kaura, Mrs Simran and PDG MS Sachdeva, Mrs Harpreet and Club Secretary Mandeep Singh, Mrs Vineeta Seth and PDG Surender Seth, Members of Jalandhar South Rotary Club Mrs Sangeeta Sehgal, Mrs Anita Sehgal, Mrs Jyoti Sharma and Mrs Jaswinder kaur along with the first Lady Jasmin Pannu and President Prabhpal Singh Pannu.
