Rotary Club of Jalandhar – Board Meeting 8.3.2021
Present Members –
PDG SV Hans, PDG MS Sachdeva, PP Adv Davinder Gupta, PP KC Gupta, PP Krishan Arora, PP Harinder Singh, PP Dr Sukant Varma, PP Treasurer Surinder Sakhuja, Incoming President Abhishek Chaudhary, Dr Vijay Oberoi, Rtn Rajan Gupta, Rtn Mahesh Gupta, Rtn Rajeev Garg, Rtn Sukhwinder Singh, Sect Mandeep Singh and Pres PS Pannu.
1. The meeting started with obituary to PP SD Chugh and discussions regarding permanent land for our club in some AGI project on 66 feet road. PDG SV Hans expressed that a team should discuss forming a trust and proceed on the purpose.
2. Treasurer PP Surinder Sakhuja apprised the board about the present financial status of the club and management of contributory expenses for Board meeting.
3. The board decided to wait atleast till 31 st March for any regular club meeting, depending upon the recent rise in Covid cases. The board also emphasised all the members to get vaccinated. Members can contact Dr Pawan Gupta, Rtn Sunil Gupta or President Pannu for any assistance in the facility.
4. Elaborate discussion was done on the Ruby Nelson Hospital, which the team have already visited for the possibility of a formal tie up. Next course of action to be taken after 25 th March, when the Head of the Institute Dr Jacob will be available in Jalandhar. PDG MS Sachdeva will inform accordingly.
5. It was informed to the board about the visit to Syndicate charitable hospital on Kapurthala road for a formal tie up. Further proceeding will be initiated accordingly. Abhishek to take the proceedings forward.
6. The board discussed the need for some projects for the handicapped and beggars , perhaps making them self sufficient. A project on traffic safety promoting wearing of Helmets on 2 wheelers was also discussed.
7. The toilet on Guru Ravi Das Chowk will be ready in March and inaugurated accordingly. Rtn Sukhwinder Singh pointed out non maintenance of toilet at Milap chowk as per expectations. The team will visit to assess the same.
8. The decision regarding Governor’s Official visit and clubs out station visit will be discussed in April depending upon Covid situation.
9. PP Harinder Singh updated that there are 2 used and 1 brand new sewing machine available with us which we can gift to anyone needy. The club members can advise the same if there is someone needy.
